Albert Andress, Obit, 2010

On February 3rd, 2010, Albert Andress, the last of my grandfather's siblings passed away. He was eighty-six years old. Below is his obituary from The Pocono Record, Stroudsburg, PA
----------

Albert R. Andress, 86, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 3, at Doylestown Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of the late Jean (Safin) Andress, who passed away in 2001.

Born in East Stroudsburg, he was the last surviving of nine children of the late William S. and Celesta Siptroth Andress.

He was a printer at Hughes Printing Co., East Stroudsburg, for 44 years.

He was active in the TKE fraternity, where he was an honorable TKE.

He and his wife enjoyed their interactions with the fraternity while they lived in East Stroudsburg. They moved to the Central Bucks area in 1983. He then took a job delivering medicines for a pharmacy to various nursing homes from the Lehigh Valley to Philadelphia. He retired in 1994 when his wife became ill with Alzheimer's disease.

He was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Bedminster, where he enjoyed going to church on Fridays to fold bulletins with other volunteers.

He was very outgoing and social with everyone. You could always hear him whistling and he would greet you with a big smile and that "Albert" grin. He also enjoyed an occasional pipe while watching the birds that would come to his many bird feeders. He was a "walker" and loved to walk every day before he became ill. He would stop and visit the police and township administration along with others in the neighborhood as he continued his journey every day. He had many coffee stops along the way.

He is survived by his three children, Alice Anne Babinetz and her husband, Joseph, and their son, Alex, William S. Andress and his wife, Marilyn, and their granddaughter, Maria Lucas, and Kathleen S. Keiper and her husband, Tim, and their children, Kayla and Tyler and his fiancee, Kerry Possinger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was everyone's favorite "Uncle AI" and had many friends that he considered "family."

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8, at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. A second viewing will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, at William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at William H. Clark Funeral Home, where the public may pay their respects after 10 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow in Stroudsburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions in Mr. Andress' name may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
